Jazz Bass Video for KCBassfest 2020
This video was made for KCBassfest 2020. Starts with some shots of Yellowstone NP with Bob playing Jay Livingston’s “Never Let Me Go”, same guy that wrote the theme for the 1960s TV series “Mr. Ed”. Go figure. Demonstrates a snippet of a diminished pattern. Then Bob plays some relatively “straight ahead” blues ending with Joe Henderson’s “Isotope”. Then he does a tribute to Johnny Mandel, who recently passed on the same day as Carl Reiner. Mandel did the music and Reiner starred in “The Russians Are Coming! The Russians Are Coming”. Bob then plays “Emily” by Mandel with Montana guitarist, Alex Nauman. After that an original of Bob’s, “Only Numbers”, dedicated to the COVID-19 lives that have been lost thus far and those yet to come.
